Dvara Siruvani

The nature walks were a real highlight of our two nights at Dvara. Mr. Rajesh, the resident naturalist, came along both days and shared so much about the local plants and wildlife. He also helped us spot a few rare migratory birds. The setting itself is quiet and tucked away from the city, about 20 km from Coimbatore, with 16 cottages named after parts of Tamil culture, as are the common areas. Our cottage had a French pool and a roomy sit-out looking out onto the peaceful surroundings. The bathroom had premium guest amenities and soft towels. The spa was another lovely part of the stay, with professionally trained therapists offering treatments to help you relax and recharge in the natural setting. There was a good choice of healthy drinks and dishes, from local options to pan-Asian food. Prices are on the high side, though the quality, flavour, and service made them feel worthwhile. We left feeling thoroughly rested after two pampered, peaceful nights. A highly recommended getaway for travellers who enjoy nature and bird watching.

The sound of the water flowing nearby was wonderful, since the property is close to the Sirivani River. Rooms also have their own private pools, which made the stay feel extra special. The traditional look, distinctive interiors, and natural setting give the place a unique atmosphere. Everything was clean and well kept, and the staff were excellent, especially Chandru, who was very good and humble.

I've stayed at this resort twice, and this time I came from Singapore for a yoga retreat. The scenic grounds really do feel like heaven on earth, and the rooms are spacious and luxurious, with some of the best beds. The food is organic, healthy, and tasty, with a lot of care put into preparing it for guests. Service is better than at five-star city hotels. Everyone we dealt with worked hard and went the extra mile, from the security uncle and housekeeping to the manager and the rest of the staff. My one thing to flag is the bathroom cleanliness in the room. Apart from that, it comes close to 5/5!

We went to a wedding at this resort recently. The lake-side setting was beautiful, the decor simple and elegant, and the staff we met were friendly and professional. The place was well maintained, including the clean bathrooms. Dinner at the Sangeet and breakfast for the morning wedding were delicious. The coconut rice with salna and steamed potato stood out, as did the crispy medu vada the next day. The weather made things less comfortable. Dew during the Sangeet left the grounds muddy, and many of us felt cold despite our heavy ornate clothes. At the wedding it was quite hot, so we moved our chairs away from the platform to sit in the shade. Heaters for the cold and better protection from the sun would have helped. Otherwise, good food and service, and a beautiful venue for small events, up to 300 people.
