Sanctuary Amaidiyana - A CGH Earth Experience

In the lush green surroundings of Auroville, this is a beautiful place for a family holiday. The staff were welcoming and very cooperative. They accommodated my parents’ request for Jain food, and Mr. Razzak prepared and served the most comforting, delicious breakfast. Heartfelt thanks to everyone at temple tree.

Our villa was huge and neat, with plenty of room inside and around the resort. It was close to the clean, well-kept pool, and the scenery and plantations made for lots of nice photos. The breakfast buffet was tasty, and outside food is allowed. Staff, room service, and helpers were courteous and well behaved. I loved the stay and would recommend it to friends. My two concerns were bugs and low voltage. Keep the door shut, even briefly, or mosquitoes and other bugs can get in. Power fluctuations kept switching off the lights and AC, even in the middle of the night.

We came with family hoping for a peaceful break, but the basic services were disappointing. The AC didn’t work, and after staff kept checking it, they told us to use the fan. When we got back at 10 PM, frogs were inside our closed room. We called for help and got no response for more than 30 minutes. The kids were scared, so we all moved into the second room. Help finally came after 11 PM, and the door lock didn’t work, which felt unsafe at night. We had booked two rooms but spent the night together in one. Room service also left our used dishes and leftover food in the room overnight. I’ve never stayed somewhere like this.

The property is called CGH Earth - Amaidiyana. We went for a quick weekend retreat and loved the lovely space, the food, and the service.
