The reception staff were welcoming and kindly arranged extra beds for the children, though the rooms felt small for the price. The rooftop restaurant, THE BUZZING BEE, serves tasty food and the hotel is conveniently placed for Port Blair’s tourist sights. There’s room to improve the restaurant service: food comes up from the lower-floor kitchen by lift, so it can be slow, yet a service charge is added. Ask them to remove it before the bill is prepared and they will. We had requested less-spicy biryani, but it still came spicy; when we mentioned it, we were told it was less spicy by their standards. A smile for arriving diners would also be nice.

The location was nice, and the room and washroom were clean. The bed linen, though, wasn’t fresh. Even after we asked for a change, the replacements were dirty too. There was also an unpleasant smell in the room. We couldn’t tell if it came from outside or from dampness, but it bothered us.

Room service was quick and efficient, and the spacious, tidy rooms made for a comfortable stay. The staff were courteous and welcoming throughout, and we found the hospitality excellent. It was a pleasant visit, and I’d recommend the hotel to anyone wanting a budget stay without giving up quality.

From the rooms, we had a nice view of the sea and a large playing ground. There’s a good range of food, and the whole staff was helpful. The hotel is about a 10-minute drive from the airport, while Cellular jail and the shopping market are around a five-minute walk away.

The food was what I appreciated most, and the cleanliness was spot on. We had a nearly perfect stay, helped by the hotel’s good location in the city. The room was on the small side, though.
