“Adjust Palace” is what I’d call this place. We were meant to stay at Inn Residency, where we’d paid an advance, but when we arrived they said there was no room for us. The owner, who owns both hotels, sent us to Palika Palace. The receptionist there also said no rooms were available. After I called the owner and we discussed it for ten minutes, we ended up having to make do for one night in a room meant for two people. The owner put an extra mattress on the floor and told us two people could share the same bed. We managed to fit two mattresses in the room, but the bathroom had no latch and the sheets were dirty. It was clearly a spare room. The next day we got a deluxe family room. It was large, but we still had to put up with problems with the AC, sheets, and bathroom. We compromised on all of it because other hotels were in high demand. We were all bachelors and somehow managed, but I wouldn’t recommend this place to a family.

The rooftop dining area had an ecstatic view, but that was the only good part. The toilets were very dirty and unhygienic, and the food was, as others have said, horrible and inedible. We had to switch hotels after the first day because of it.

The food was poor and far too expensive, and it felt like the hotel cared only about money rather than its customers. The AC didn’t work, and the door wouldn’t latch properly. I’d give it zero stars if that were possible, but the default rating is one. I’d tell travelers and agents to avoid it. Staying here was a waste of time, money, and energy.

The rooftop breakfast was superb, and the staff were good. The rooms were just okay, though, and the money didn’t feel well spent. The front and side of the hotel were dirty, with lots of flies. The surroundings could have been kept cleaner.

The room boys were very cooperative, which was the one good thing. Most rooms seem to have problems, and the washrooms weren’t clean. The AC and geyser weren’t working. Think twice before booking.
