Hotel DORTN

I ended up moving to another hotel after finding a cockroach on the bed. Rita was very helpful throughout, showing me several rooms to match my preference, offering tea, and giving me the best available rent. She offered to upgrade the room, but I chose a refund instead. She spoke with her Seniors and arranged it. The rooms are undoubtedly spacious, with lots of room.

The calm, refined ambience would suit business or leisure travelers, and the property was well maintained. My room was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully arranged. Staff were professional, courteous, and efficient throughout my visit. The service was consistently good, and I’d confidently recommend Hotel Dortn & Ravi Varma. It deserves 5 stars.

The restaurant food was delicious, and there’s an open lawn restaurant within the hotel premises with a very big projector screen. I had a pleasant stay in a neat, clean room with an open hall and kitchen, including a refrigerator and oven. There were two LED TVs, and most channels worked. Plenty of space and storage, and the staff and service were great.

My company arranged a week-long stay here to help employees coming from another city transition smoothly, but the experience was a nightmare. Google reviews show a 3 Star Hotel, yet the staff didn’t maintain that standard. I’m disheartened and disappointed with the hospitality, and wouldn’t recommend it for corporate stays or to family, friends, or relatives. I’ll share this feedback with my company and suggest cancelling the tie up. There was no daily housekeeping, mosquitoes kept us awake, and the sheets and towels were torn. Water wasn’t available around the clock, and there were problems with hot water in the washroom. Drinking water wasn’t provided regularly unless requested. Service was often delayed. The complimentary breakfast was poor, usually cold. We had to call reception multiple times for housekeeping and packaged drinking water, and the restaurant for plates and cutlery. These took 7-8 hours to arrive. Their own restaurant, Spice Nation, charges double for packaged drinking water bottles, plus GST. Utterly disappointed.
