OYO 24143 Flagship Hotel Blue Orchid

I paid the full month's rent and deposit in advance, but when I arrived on the 10th there was no room for me. They kept moving me into different rooms without the actual tenants' knowledge or consent while those tenants were away, I guess in their hometowns. Each time, they assured me a room would be assigned the next day. On the third day, when I had a fever, they moved me late at night into another person's room without considering how I was feeling. The actual tenant had arrived earlier than they expected, and the same thing happened again. The owner seemed extremely greedy and showed no regard for tenants' privacy or comfort. I left for good on the fourth morning after three days and three room changes. A complete nightmare and eye opener.

They raise the rent every 3-4 months, so ask the people living there. Food isn't good, and the roti is awful. Rooms are too small for ₹8500 double sharing. Of the two washing machines, only one works for 51 rooms, so you can imagine the rush. AC costs 20Rs per unit. There are often bedbugs in the rooms, plus mice and cockroaches in the kitchen. Even during a long power cut, they won't turn on the generator.

The room was fine apart from a broken fan regulator. The restaurant was the worst part: the menu in the room lists loads of dishes, but only a handful are actually available. And during lunch and dinner, when they call it main course time, don't expect to get tea or coffee either.

I was on a business trip and couldn't spend much, so I chose an OYO hotel. It worked for a solo traveler staying one day. The room was clean but small, and there wasn't much choice at breakfast. It's in a very quiet area surrounded by PGs. I'd rate it 3/5 overall.
