Varenya agro-resort

The property was spacious, nice, and clean, and the room was in very good condition. The bedrolls were tidy, the food was tasty, and the hospitality was good. The swimming pool was clean and well maintained too.

The property needs much better upkeep. We saw rats moving around the room at night, and the toilets and dining area were dirty. The swing support poles were rusty, and the washbasin wastewater didn't drain properly. It ran through a pipe into an area that was very dirty and hidden behind a partition. The surrounding trees also weren't maintained.

We spent a weekend at Varenya Agro Resort with family and enjoyed it. Sanjay Pujari, the manager, was polite and handled our requests promptly. The village setting among dry mountains may not be appealing in summer, when there's little greenery. The pool is small but worked well for our family of 5 to 6, and outdoor options include badminton, cricket, basketball, and volleyball. Indoors there are pool, table tennis, and carrom, though some pool cues and the carrom board could be replaced. It was a good way to spend time together. Meals were simple and tasty. Lunch and dinner included chicken rassa, dal, bhindi masala, rice, and papad, with tea, coffee, and kanda bhaji. The evening menu had paneer mutter masala, while the rest of the menu was the same. Hi tea was tea, coffee, and kanda bhaji. Breakfast the next morning was toast with butter and jam, omelettes, and poha.

The shack had a spectacular view, and the rooms were clean and well maintained. The food was delicious and authentic, and the person at the resort was helpful and very polite. A nice bonus is that they welcome pets.
