White Castle

For a short stay when all you need is a place to sleep, the rooms are decent and comfortable for the price. There’s a clean bed, attached bathroom, AC, and TV. I recently stayed at The White Castle on Ambegaon Road, but the TV wouldn’t start. The staff member I called said, “TV ka server down hai isliye start nahi ho raha hai,” and made no further effort to follow up or fix it. Don’t expect much service. It feels more like a lodge than a proper hotel. The rooms are fine, but service is very minimal, so you may be disappointed if you’re looking for proper hospitality and attention.

I stayed in three rooms over two nights, changing rooms after one night, and the problems kept coming. Two rooms had broken A/C units with no remotes, while the third had an A/C that leaked water onto the bed beneath it. One room had walls with fungus, no telephone connection, TV wiring hanging out of the wall with no TV, dampness, and no soap in the bathroom. I had to go downstairs to get that room changed. Another room’s chair was literally covered in mold. The rooms were untidy, small cockroaches were running around, there was no Wi-Fi in 2025, and the bathroom amenities were poor, with showers that might not even work. The staff seemed like immature rookies who acted tough and smoked all day outside the hotel door. Even with a huge discount through booking websites or apps, this place wasn’t close to worth the money. It feels like a scam. Stay away, whatever the ratings say, since they’re likely fake or forged.

A bar on the ground floor made the place loud and rowdy, which didn’t seem suitable for families with children. Our room was dirty, the sheets were stained, and the bathroom wasn’t clean. Trash was scattered in the common areas, and there was a strong bad smell throughout the building. The whole place felt unhygienic, and staff were inattentive and unhelpful. Hygiene and hospitality standards seemed to be lacking. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially to families looking for a comfortable, safe stay. Avoid if you can.

When I checked out, they wouldn’t give me any kind of bill or invoice despite repeated requests, just vague excuses. That raises serious questions about whether the place is being run legally, since a legitimate business would provide a bill. I also tried calling the front desk several times for basic requests, but nobody answered. The phones might as well have been decoration. From check-in onward, the service was awful. Staff were rude, unprofessional, and seemed uninterested in their jobs. There was no accountability or hospitality, and it felt like a shady back-alley lodge instead of a proper hotel. I’d never recommend it. Avoid it, there are far better and safer options.
