Hotel Prabhupada Puri

The pool needs serious attention. It's right beside a local pond, the tiles are broken and could hurt someone, and the water smelled very bad. I wouldn't let kids in it. The pool attendant acted like the hotel owner, wasn't in proper uniform, and left the area unattended when asked. Management should take this seriously. The rooms were clean and the restaurant had a great ambience, but they had no windows, which surprised me. Food was authentic, though a little overpriced. Housekeeping and restaurant service were excellent, while reception staff seemed unfriendly and didn't even notice their guests. Everything else was absolutely okay.

Rooms 103 and 105 were comfortable, and it was a pleasant stay close to the beach and good value for money. The decor was the most stylish I've seen among the hotels on Lighthouse line in Puri, modern and crisp, with a polished corporate hotel feel. Wi-Fi was flawless, and room upkeep was good thanks to the capable housekeeping team led by Mr. Munna. The food was so good we were too busy eating to take more than two lunch photos. Compliments to the Chef and team: the Shukto, crab curry, and delicate penne in white sauce were all done beautifully. Breakfast could be a little better, though the tangy tomato Yippee noodles with corn were a nice touch at the buffet. I'll stay here again. I'm giving four stars even though the stay was flawless, saving the fifth for a return visit in one of the sea-facing rooms. Thank you for a memorable weekend.

Sanatan, the food manager, and Amar from the hotel were wonderful, always smiling and happy to help. The GM, Mr Prakash, also deserves a special mention for handling the reservation and daily coordination so helpfully and cordially. We loved the food, especially the crab and sizzler, though really everything we tried was very good. We stayed in the executive front sea view rooms, and the room location, service, reception response, hospitality, and food quality and taste were all very good. They were very friendly with our little dog. There are a few things to improve. The tandoor was closed even though restaurants all over Puri had one available, and the food selection could be bigger. In the best room category, the sofa isn't comfortable enough as an extra bed when we're paying for another person. A proper extra bed would be better. A balcony in the top category rooms and suites would be welcome, since balconies are basic in Puri. The pool and garden could also be decorated more. Still, it was a very good stay. Keep it up, sir.

Hotel Prabhupada charged a lot, but the quality was seriously lacking. The Peanut Masala tasted stale, as if they'd used poor-quality peanuts, with none of the crunch you'd expect in a fresh snack. It felt like an afterthought at a premium price. The room maintenance was also poor. The AC remote didn't work properly, so adjusting the temperature and staying comfortable was a struggle. For these rates, basic amenities should work properly. The service and food quality don't justify the cost, so if you're looking for a stay or meal that offers value for money, I'd strongly suggest looking elsewhere in Puri.
