Hotel Nova Cross Road

The staff were polite and supportive, and the hotel is right in central Rajkot. But the room was in poor shape, not properly cleaned, and small cockroaches were crawling around. The mattress smelled and quickly gave me neck and back pain. Lighting in the room was very dim, and the small lift felt suffocating, with its light off during our stay. We were there for just one night, but it became a really bad memory.

I won't stay at this hotel or any NOVA branch again. I told the staff to keep the things I lost, and I don't recommend the place if you care about your safety or belongings. My earlier stay at their branch near Greenaland Chokdi before Diwali had been good, so I expected the same here. This stay turned into a nightmare. I checked in on 6th November at 7:41 AM and left the hotel on 7th November at 10:08 AM. Before heading to work, I put my clothes, daily essentials, and charger in a college-type bag, then placed it in the closet. I locked the room before handing in the key around 10:15 AM. When I came back around 3 PM, the charger was gone. My clothes were still in the closet, but the carry bag that had been inside my luggage was lying outside the main bag. I suspected someone had entered my room. At reception, they admitted they'd accidentally given my room to another guest while my things were still there. That guest had opened the closet and told staff before they moved him to another room. Staff spent around 45 minutes acting as though they were searching, then accused that guest of taking the charger and compensated me. Later, I noticed my T-shirt was missing too. At first I wasn't sure whether I'd left it at home by mistake, but after I got home on 8th November and couldn't find it anywhere, I was sure it had gone missing at the hotel. The hotel's shaving kit was also gone when I returned earlier that day. When I raised the issue again, staff brushed me off and suggested it could be my fault. They later said the guest who'd entered my room was a “regular client” and a friend of the owner. It felt like they cared more about that friend than their paying guests. The hotel was careless and unprofessional with my belongings and guest security, and defended the person involved instead of taking responsibility.

The food was great, and the staff behaved well. Thanks for giving me such good service.
