Hotel Blue Star

I visited Blue Star Hotel while going to Rameshwaram temple, and the experience was poor. The rooms weren't properly clean and had maintenance problems, including improper doors and poor upkeep. Staff were not welcoming or polite, and the way they handled customers felt unprofessional. The charges were too high for what was provided, so it didn't feel worth the money. I wouldn't recommend it. Service, maintenance, and hospitality all need major improvement. Rating: ⭐☆☆☆☆ (1/5).

The only real advantage was that the temple was close enough to walk to. We were there at the end of December, when it was very crowded, and chose this hotel on a local guy's recommendation. He was the nice one among everyone. We paid nearly 8k, a hefty amount, and got little more than a room with AC and a small bathroom. I can't even call it a hotel. The reception staff treated North Indian people badly and raised their voices as if we were their servants. There was no customer respect. Worst experience of my life as a traveller. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The building felt like it was falling apart, the rooms were tiny, and there was a disgusting dead-rat smell. We had no hot water, and the electrical switches were broken and unsafe. The AC only worked because other guests had to get into a heated argument with the staff to get basic amenities. Rent was high, and the owner was incredibly rude and unprofessional. It was a nightmare stay. Avoid this place.

Stay away from this hotel. They quoted ₹1000 when I called to book, then charged ₹1300 on arrival, saying the requested room wasn't available and they were upgrading us. The guests were elderly and couldn't really argue. Even at the higher price, the room was no good. The fan didn't work, and they wouldn't compensate with AC. They only fixed the fan an hour before checkout. When I raised it on a call, the person on the other end didn't answer properly and hung up. These guys are cheaters.
