Hotel Nnp Grand By OYO Rooms

The little seafood restaurant directly across from Hotel NNP may look a bit shady, but the food was really tasty and worth trying. We were comfortable at the hotel, right by Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple on the highway. We arrived around 7 AM. Auto drivers may charge whatever they like, though the usual fare is about ₹50. The staff were polite, but there was a bit of a language barrier, so a few Tamil words help. The clean, cozy rooms suit couples and have a TV, water heater, cupboard, and study table. The corridors are somewhat narrow, but room management was good overall.

We booked 12 rooms together as a group, and they were all well maintained. Check-in was quick and simple, and the staff were cooperative and supportive. Younger visitors can walk to the temple. For older people, shared autos go to the temple entrance for 20Rs per head. Big tourist buses can't go into Rameshwaram past the bus stand, so you'll need to arrange one of the many tempo-style vehicles.

Nearby restaurants weren't good. The manager was arrogant and argumentative, and the staff were uncooperative and showed little courtesy. We weren't even offered water while waiting to check in, no matter how long the wait was. The washroom by reception was in awful condition. Rooms are very small, with tight corridors where barely one person can pass. There's no electric kettle or shampoo, and hot water comes only from the tap, not the shower. Staff rigidly enforce check-in and checkout times, or charge a lot by the hour for an early arrival or late departure.

The rooms were neat and it was a great stay overall. There's no kitchen or catering in the hotel, but good restaurants are within walking distance. It's near Rameshwaram Jyotirlinga, panchmukhi Hanuman temple, and other sightseeing spots.
