The day and evening receptionist, a Sardar whose name I don’t know, was helpful and attentive and genuinely tried to sort things out. The location is good and the hotel could do much better, but service, staff behavior, and basic amenities need immediate improvement. The morning receptionist, the one with a bob/pony tail, was extremely rude and inattentive, often on the phone. We had to handle our own luggage. The reception phone either doesn’t work or goes unanswered. We were given just one dirty, torn towel even though there were two or three guests. Warming milk took 47 minutes despite several reminders, while a baby was crying. The air conditioning barely worked, and we might be moved between rooms. Even when it did work, it was switched off from time to time, seemingly to save electricity. This was one of the worst stays I’ve experienced.

The location on the main road was easy to find and convenient for travellers heading toward Nainital/Kainchi Dham. Parking was available, and food arrived on time and was decent. At Hotel White Square in Rampur, my room was clean, spacious, and well-maintained, and the washroom was hygienic with proper hot water. Staff were polite and responsive, and helped with luggage and requests. It felt comfortable and safe, and good value for money.

The geyser didn’t work, and the mattress was in pathetic condition. In winter, that made the stay extremely uncomfortable. It was a very poor experience, and I definitely won’t return.

A water bottle marked 20 rs was sold for 30 rs, and the food charges are very high. Don’t order here. There are lots of cheaper options outside with good taste.

Dirty pillows and towels, ridiculous toilet seats, and poor service made this a very bad experience. I’d never recommend it to anyone.
