The calm atmosphere and easy access around the city made for a relaxed stay. Hotel Balaji Central has roomy accommodation that suits work trips or families, plus a pool, gym and plenty of parking. It feels like a full-service property compared with typical choices in Ratlam. The infrastructure has promise, though some areas look dated and upkeep isn’t consistent enough for its premium positioning. Food was decent and dependable, but the breakfast could offer more variety. Staff are polite, though service can slow down at busy times. It’s a good Ratlam option if space and facilities matter to you. With closer attention to maintenance and detail, it could become one of the city’s top stays.

The owner called me after my complaint and was polite and understanding. I appreciate the quick follow-up, and I’m willing to give the staff another chance. I wouldn’t want the owner or stakeholders to lose customers because of a few employees’ misconduct. This was the first time I’d had such a terrible experience; staff had always been polite and courteous on my previous visits. For years, this had been my regular stop while traveling between Mumbai and Delhi, and I used to genuinely value staying here. On this visit, the front desk quoted one room rate over the phone, then denied it when I arrived and said I’d heard incorrectly. I have a call recording that clearly confirms the quoted price. What upset me most was the front desk staff’s rude, aggressive, confrontational and unapologetic attitude. They seemed more interested in arguing than handling the mistake professionally. This had been my permanent stop in Ratlam, but after that visit I said I’d never return and would advise others to stay away. I offered to share the recording with management or the owner. I also said they’d lost a loyal customer, and that I’d tell my colleagues and family who visit often to avoid the hotel.

The noise all night made sleeping impossible, and nobody seemed concerned about guest comfort. Food was terrible for the price, room service took too long, and the rude staff ignored requests or answered complaints with excuses. The room was dirty, poorly maintained and smelled foul when we walked in. Bedsheets looked unwashed, the bathroom was unhygienic, and basic amenities were missing or broken. This was easily the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. It’s overpriced and poorly managed, and I strongly don’t recommend it. Save your money and stay somewhere else. I

On our second family visit to Hotel Balaji Central, the experience was a big drop from the first one. The location is still its strong point, roughly 9 km from the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, and the staff were helpful. But the room had no Good Knight mosquito refill, the bathroom flush didn’t work, and the drain was completely clogged. The worst part was the noise. I didn’t know the hotel had a banquet hall. A marriage function was on during our stay, and well past midnight the banquet workers started cleaning up. There was loud talking and shouting, furniture being moved, and constant banging and clattering. I complained at reception; they asked the workers to stop, and it went quiet for perhaps 30-45 minutes. Then the noise resumed for hours, and our exhausted family couldn’t sleep all night. It made the stay unbearable despite the convenient location and helpful staff. I’d hoped for better after my first visit, so this was very disappointing. Management should improve soundproofing between the banquet hall and rooms, set firm cleanup hours, inspect rooms before check-in, and tell guests when events are scheduled. If you’re considering a stay, call ahead about functions, ask for a room far from the hall, check it carefully before accepting, and make your noise expectations clear with reception. I’d recommend it only if there’s no banquet event and you can get a room away from the hall. I’m unlikely to return unless I hear of significant improvements.

An average hotel in what seems like an old property. Staff are a bit rude, and they start talking about the price before they’ll show you a room. There’s nobody available in the early morning, so if you check out around 7-8 a.m., you’ll have to carry your own luggage.
