Sunshine Beach Cottage

I stayed in this area again in 2025, at the resort next door. Sunshine guests were drinking and playing songs until 6 in the morning, and the noise kept us from sleeping. Not recommended. Weekend prices are also four times higher. I’d stayed here before in 2022, when it was a nice cottage. Now there’s a compound wall beside the rooms, along with other cottage rooms, and the photos are old.

The room sizes are big, pets are allowed, and it’s close to both the beach and main road. But the service was poor, and the front parking area has no pavement. When it rained, the ground got so slushy we couldn’t even walk from the gate to the rooms. The photo showing open space at the front is deceptive and looks old. There’s a compound wall there now.

Don’t visit this property. The service is poor and the manager is arrogant. We booked for 12 hr, but they were asking us to check out after 8 hr.

Once we finally got into our room, the rest of the stay went smoothly. The rooms were neat and clean, staff were polite, and service was good. The home-cooked food was tasty and comforting, but order it in advance. The beach is only a 2-minute walk away. The check-in needs improvement. We arrived around 1:30 PM, after the 12 PM check-in time, but waited until 2 PM because the previous guests were still in the room. The owner only asked them to leave after we argued. Another family with us had the same delay. After riding 200 km in the hot sun, that wait and the way it was handled was really disappointing. I’m giving 4 stars mainly for the food, cleanliness, good service, and friendly staff. Overall, the experience was nice, but check-in was a problem.
