Hotel Surya Palace

The staff are really good with guests, and there's a cafe restaurant as well as yoga and other things. We were late, but they still served us food. My friend and I tried several dishes, including kadai veg, palak paneer, fried rice, and kadai paneer, among others. For that price range, I personally liked the food. I'd love to visit NXT time and will recommend it to my friends.

The non-AC room I chose was clean and comfortable, and Surya Palace has both AC and non-AC options for different budgets. It’s especially affordable in winter, though rates go up a little in summer. The staff were attentive, and the free Wi-Fi, clean bathrooms, and comfortable bedding covered the basics well. Ram Jhula is close by, so it’s easy to get to the bridge and see the Ganges and the surrounding scenery. The hotel felt welcoming for families and friends, with shared spaces for relaxing or spending time together. A comfortable place to stay while exploring Rishikesh.

We booked several rooms at Surya for a friend’s wedding, and valuables were stolen. When we raised the problem, they said they couldn’t do anything. The service was pathetic, the food wasn’t good, and the money charged was absolutely not worth it.

The route in is a little awkward. You have to take the road from the Rajaji forest side, leave the vehicle at the Jonk Road parking, then walk about 200 m to the hotel. Ram Jhula Road is another 500 m away on foot. We booked two budget non-AC rooms in October since the weather was pleasant. They were neat and clean, with balcony views and very clean bathrooms. The food was tasty and fairly priced, especially after the awful experience we’d had at chotiwala.
