Vashishth Guest House

We stayed at Vashishth Guest House for 8 nights and found it clean, peaceful, and well maintained. The staff were kind and helpful, and the food was delicious and always fresh. It’s very close to the ashram and the holy Ganga River, so it was easy to enjoy Rishikesh’s spiritual atmosphere. Special thanks to Sandeep and krish in the restaurant. We’ll see you again.

I’ve already booked Vashishth Guest house for next year. It was quiet at night and a great option if you don’t want to stay in the nearby ashram. The guest house is a short walk from Parmarth Niketan, where I was attending the International yoga festival. They even helped me book a moped ride into Tapovan for the kirtan festival, and I met some lovely friends there. My room was spacious and spotlessly clean, with a terrace, a big comfortable bed, nice sheets and pillows, plus a handy kettle and fridge. The bathroom was great and had plenty of hot water once I realized I needed to turn on the switch. The restaurant was clean and modern, with a lovely view. The staff there were sweet and helpful, and I enjoyed the delicious home-cooked food, especially the masala tea. Breakfast was very good too. Everyone was kind and friendly. They also booked my taxi from the airport to the guest house. Thanks to Tushar and the staff for making my stay so great.

The service at Vashishth Guest House was amazing, and I’ll return to spend more time in that holy place. When I checked in very late after taking a train to Haridwar, they sent a taxi to pick me up. Someone was still waiting even though I arrived after staff had officially finished for the night, and they upgraded me to a balcony suite for free. I spent 2 blissful days in Rishikesh, then checked out at 6 am on the 3rd day. They had arranged a return taxi to Haridwar so I could catch the 8.04 Vande Bharat Express to Delhi. After I realized on the train that I’d left a pair of newly purchased earrings in my room, they arranged to send them to where I was staying in Delhi. The Guest House is less than a 5 minute walk from Parmarth Niketan and the ghat where the ashram holds Ganga aarti every night. It’s also 5 minutes from Janki Jhoola and greater Rishikesh. I simply can’t recommend this guesthouse enough.

The breakfast was great, and everyone working there was really nice and friendly. I felt looked after, which meant a lot so far from home. When I arrived, I’d had a bad experience with the taxi, and they helped me by picking me up on the other side of the Ganga. I was very lucky to find this place. The room was very comfortable, and I’ll definitely go back when I’m in Rishikesh again.
