Hotel Windsor Castle

Submarine Restaurant has recently opened inside the grand Windsor Castle Salem. It serves seafood, including lobster and calamari, with dishes meant to showcase the ocean’s bounty. Hotel Windsor Castle is a fine heritage hotel in Salem, where contemporary and traditional styles come together. The decor is elegant, the colour palette is attractive, and the service is impeccable. The breakfast service was a struggle. Just two staff were trying to manage all the guests, and they couldn't keep up with refilling food or supplying plates and cups. It was pretty poor, and management needs to hire more people. We also had trouble with the A/C: of the three rooms, only one cooled properly. They serviced the other two, but it didn't fix the problem. Our room wasn't cleaned on the second day despite repeated requests. Staff finally cleaned it at 10pm while we were back, and did a great job once they got to it. The hotel seems short staffed. The decor was nice, breakfast tasted good, and the support staff were good.

The rooms were well maintained and the food was delicious. At check-in, though, the front office staff member didn't seem welcoming or greet guests warmly. When I asked about the process, her answers weren't clear and came across as unhelpful. Since reception is a guest's first contact, courteous communication and a friendly welcome matter. I hope the hotel takes this feedback constructively and improves its service.

My stays on 13th and 18th Dec 25 were a pleasure. Mythilipriya was especially courteous, genuinely helpful, and ready to assist. Ganesan and the other colleagues were prompt too, and willing to go beyond their usual duties for customers. The GM was polite and quick to attend to guests as well. I'm glad I stayed here, and will recommend the hotel to others. Quite a few of my friends were keen on my staying here.
