The bathroom was clean, and there was warm water in the morning. But the price felt high for getting little beyond a room, not even a water bottle, and the room needed more lights. When the power went out early in the morning for about 30 minutes, there was no emergency light or backup system, so it was completely dark. Just okay.
The room was good, but service was poor in winter. The geyser wasn’t working, which made my stay in room No 404 really painful. I don’t know how I managed there.
For a moderate budget of up to Rs.2000 a night in Sambalpur, Harjit Residency is an easy choice. They also provide regular drinking water, which you can definitely drink.
The bedsheets weren’t clean, and even the pillows weren’t good. Cockroaches were all over the room and in my bed. When I told room service, they brought cockroach sprey. This was the worst experience I’ve had at Harjit residency. No one should try this room.
I have to give the reception staff credit for their behavior. The rest was mediocre: the AC didn’t work, though maybe we were just unlucky, and room service still hadn’t brought clean glasses after three calls. They market the hotel as four star based on the pictures, but it isn’t true. Breakfast costs over 300 rs extra, and as a foodie I’d say you’ll find fur better food outside. Three stars.
