Hotel Suvarna Samrat Lodge by OYO Rooms

Our whole trip was thrown into a mess at the last minute. The hotel also looked shady, with an indecent crowd, and didn't feel suitable for families. We'd paid in advance and booked two days beforehand. OYO confirmed the booking, then confirmed it again on check-in day, but when we arrived the hotel representative refused to give us a room. He said the OYO rooms were still under construction and that he'd already told OYO there was no way to accommodate us. OYO said they hadn't known, canceled the booking and offered a refund. When I argued, the agent said it wasn't in her hands and she couldn't do anything. She also said there were no other hotels available. OYO takes bookings but seems least concerned about the service, and neither the hotel staff nor customer care took responsibility.

We waited over an hour for food, and it was hopeless. Even the plain white rice was really bad. Most of the place seemed to cater to drinkers, and although there's a family corner, it wasn't very clean. I stopped here by mistake and wouldn't suggest the place to any family.

The real rooms smelled terrible, and during monsoon the rooms leak. The photos aren't real. When you book, check with OYO that the hotel will actually honor it: the owner says OYO rooms aren't available, even while taking offline bookings. If you get frustrated and ask OYO for a refund, they return your money but don't compensate you for the trouble of making the trip. Don't choose OYO, especially this very cheap hotel.

If you're on a tight budget, the staff are helpful and good, but the crowd isn't great. It feels a bit shady and I don't think it's suitable for families. There are no AC rooms, and there wasn't even a TV.
