The manager was especially kind and polite, and made our stay comfortable. He knew a lot about the area, arranged our safari, and made the visit more interesting. We’d love to come back to Madai, and would definitely stay at Sunshine Lodge again. The location is beautiful, even more so in person than it looks in the internet photos. Our family was looked after wholeheartedly by the dedicated, extremely polite staff. The rooms were excellent, and the food was, too. They took proper care in preparing meals for us.

The location is the best part, and the view from the rooms is majestic. Inside, the rooms were clean and roomy enough to relax in, and the washrooms were fresh and very tidy. My only real negative was the food: there weren’t many choices, and service was just okay.

We had a terrible experience with the food. My family and I got food poisoning, and the staff agreed that the food was stale. When we were leaving, though, they said no one else had reported the same problem and that we were the only ones. They kindly booked our safaris, but weren’t willing to acknowledge that the food had been stale. The location is extremely good, but that didn’t make up for it.

Sunshine lodge was a good experience overall. The river-view rooms had neat, clean bathrooms, and the food was good quality. There weren’t many lunch or dinner options, though.

The food was fantastic, though service moved very slowly. Rooms were just okay, but for one of the cheapest hotels around, you do get value for your money. The location is top notch, right by the river and only 100 meters from the Madhai entry gate for Jungle Safari.
