Sterling Gir

The property may be good, but its cancellation rules left a very poor impression. We needed to cancel one room because of unavoidable medical reasons, but Sterling Gir Resort wouldn’t allow a partial cancellation of the rooms under our booking. That’s very inconvenient in a genuine situation. We also cancelled the full booking well within the permitted cancellation window and were still charged a “convenience fee.” When cancellation is made during the free cancellation period, that extra charge feels unfair and unreasonable. I hope management makes these policies more flexible and considerate for guests dealing with emergencies.

Dining was a highlight. Restaurant Manager Sanjay made sure every meal was delicious and served just right, and his team took great care of us. Assistant Managers Aryan Sharma and Raman Tiwari were also consistently supportive and welcoming. Tiwari sir deserves a special mention for being so humble and having no attitude at all. Their warmth and professionalism made us feel at home. Sterling Gir Resort is beautiful, peaceful, and very well maintained. It was a fantastic stay, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, good service, and memorable hospitality.

The buffet had only 7-8 items, and the only thing served hot was the sambhar from the previous day. Food choices were limited, and the rooms were a disaster. There were stains all over the washrooms, a foul smell, and basic cleanliness was missing. The swimming pool had broken tiles and algae. We paid 35k for 2 nights/2 rooms, and I regret choosing this place. The location is the one good point. The resort sits inside the jungle in a mango orchard.

The approach road is the one real problem. The 1.5 km stretch from the main road is in very bad condition, and there’s a good chance of getting a puncture, so take a spare wheel and air pump. The resort itself is very peaceful and in a very good location. If you love nature, you’ll surely like it.
