Oyo 45408 Hotel Ambassador

The reception team plays a double game. They quote the best rate when you book, then change the room tariff once you reach the hotel. Their response is terrible. They’re all scammers in this hotel.

The hotel experience itself was good: the room and washroom were clean, room service was good, and the middle-aged male staff were polite. I had no issue with them. But the management’s practices were the worst. I booked through OYO and called to arrange early check-in because my train was due into Secunderabad at 6 AM. The man on the phone said they were overbooked and advised me to book the whole previous day to avoid problems checking in early. I couldn’t take chances because I had an appointment I couldn’t be late for. Then my train was delayed and I arrived at 11 PM, so the extra booking money went to waste. When I told the woman at reception what happened, she said calling a day ahead was enough for early check-in and I didn’t need to book the previous day. It felt like a cheap way for the man to increase hotel revenue. The room wasn’t like the one shown in OYO, though I guess that’s obvious. The bed was also a problem: an old spring mattress, at least a decade old, with springs hurting my back. They should upgrade the mattresses. I had to check out late because my train was at 5 PM, so I went to reception. The woman asked me to open the OYO app on my phone and hand it over. I thought she might use it to extend my stay for those extra hours, but later I found she’d given the hotel a five-star rating. I didn’t see that coming.

The room had bedbugs, and I had to ask for basic things like water, a glass, and even a towel. The location is prime, with all kinds of places nearby. Paradise metro is a five-minute walk, and Paradise biryani is two minutes away.

The rooms were clean. I didn’t use room service, but my onward cab arrangements were made promptly 👏👏👏👏👏
