Townhouse Oak Umdanagar Railway Station

The place is close to the airport, though it’s a 20-minute walk to the main road. It smelled bad and was a bit dirty. Fine if you only need somewhere to sleep the day before a flight.

We booked for three people, but they gave us a room meant for two. There were rats in the lodge too. This is the worst hotel to book.

The one positive was that they let our drivers use a free room to freshen up in the morning, and there was plenty of parking space for our Tempo Traveller. Beyond that, our three-night, one-day stay was a mess. Nobody checked whether we needed room service, food, or help, and the response needs to improve. The hotel walls need repainting, the cots and beds need pest treatment, the geyser should be replaced because hot water wasn’t working properly, and the old, stained wardrobe takes up too much space and should be removed. The location was wrong on Google: it showed Huda colony chandanagar, 35 kms from the actual place, which is in huda colony Shamshabad. After a lot of traffic and a wasted trip to the right location, I raised this with reception. They blamed OYO for not updating it, but I told them the hotel management should correct the listing. We went into two rooms and found used sheets covered with hairs. They changed them right away, but then we saw a cockroach on the bed and black stains on the wall. The bathrooms and buckets were sticky and yellowish. We’d booked rooms with attached balconies, but were told other people were already in them and that we could get one in the morning. They later gave us another room, but only one had a balcony, and there was a transformer there, so we didn’t use it. The OYO app support was pathetic too. I could write about that all day. I’ll never come back.

There were mosquitos everywhere, and the only thing staff gave me was an agarbatti, which didn’t help at all. The electricity kept fluctuating through the night. The bathroom had no soap, the taps didn’t work, and the walls were badly damaged. The pillows and sheets were filthy. Worst hotel stay I’ve ever had.
