Sha Ri Loum Homestay

The decor and ambience were great, but the complimentary food service was pathetic and felt very calculated. A couple could have only one paratha, served as two pieces. For another paratha, they had to pay, or choose one omelette or a boiled egg. They should work on making the service feel more homely and welcoming. Otherwise, why choose you?

The owner has kept the property clean and tidy and is very helpful. It's one of the best Home Stays in Shilong, and the food is decent too. If you want to see some hidden gems of Meghalaya, I'd ask you to book Jaden for the whole trip. His driving skills are top notch. You can get Jaden's contact info from the owner of Sha Ri Loum.

The food was delicious, served in good quantity, and was kid-friendly. Meals came on time, 8 -10 am /pm, and we need to place dinner orders before 4:30 pm, which is understandable and something guests should respect. Our rooms had good privacy, with keys handed over to us, and toiletries were available. They were neat and comfortable, and the greenery around them gave us a pleasant, relaxing feeling. The host and staff provided excellent hospitality and service, took care of our needs, and made sure they were available any time. We had an awesome stay, thanks for making it comfortable and memorable. ☺️☺️

Breakfast was good, and the homestay has a warm feel with spacious rooms. But cleaning needs work. We found beedi and cigarette ends on the floor when we arrived, and at late checkout the room still smelled of smoke, with an uncleared ashtray, as if staff had been using it. The toilet seats are worn and dirty and should be replaced. In the Orchid room, the curtain won't shut properly and needs fixing. Aside from those issues, the rest of our stay was good.
