Getting to Christ Church takes very little time, and The Ridge is a short 5-7 minute walk away. The way back takes closer to 15-20 minutes because it's uphill, though the route is scenic and manageable, with maintained road and steps. The mountain views are especially refreshing when the clouds clear. Rooms face the mountains when the weather allows, and the elevated setting is peaceful. We came with family and had a comfortable, relaxing stay. Staff were warm, courteous, and attentive, always happy to help. The food was satisfying, and breakfast was particularly enjoyable. Florence BnB Shimla is a cozy, charming place with easy access to the gate by car, though station taxis may hesitate because of the longer route. One economical route is a cab for about ₹200 from Shimla Railway Station to the Lift area, then around ₹20 to Lower Bazaar, followed by a comfortable 15-minute walk to the hotel. I found the stay memorable and would happily recommend it for a pleasant, scenic visit to Shimla.

The people here were so kind, even sharing food with the monkeys. That thoughtfulness really stood out to me. The setting is lovely for getting out into nature, and both the food and its presentation were fantastic. Service was polite and excellent, too. One small issue: the heater is portable, and a fixed one would be better. A wonderful stay, and a hotel worth considering.

The peaceful setting made it easy to get away from the crowds while still being conveniently placed for Shimla’s main sights. Our room was spacious, tidy, and well looked after, with lovely hills visible from it. The food was fresh and tasty, with enough choice for different preferences. Staff were always courteous and quick to help, and their friendly manner made us feel welcome throughout. We had a memorable stay at Florence Hotel, Shimla and I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable visit.

That balcony view was a real highlight, and the bed was comfortable too. We felt at home in the cozy, warm place. Our hosts were welcoming and thoughtful about our comfort the whole time, and went out of their way to help us. We had a lovely stay and would recommend it.

The people were kind and helpful, but the stay had some real drawbacks. There was no hot water, internet, or TV. The hotel is a long way from Mall Road, and walking there can be especially difficult during snowfall. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone traveling with a senior citizen. We visited in Feb 26.
