Goroomgo Chandel Home Stay Shimla

I’ve stayed here twice, and the location is beautiful, quiet, and scenic. The rooms were clean, and the laundry, sheets, mattresses, and pillows were all good. Brijender ji, the owner, is a real gentleman. I got to talk with him at length both times, and he was polite, considerate, helpful, and happy to oblige. He puts in personal effort to make guests comfortable and at home. I was impressed by his attitude. I give four stars because that’s the highest rating I usually use, and I haven’t given anyone five. I highly recommend the place and its owner, and I’ll return and tell friends and acquaintances about it.

For the price, around ₹600-700 a night, this is a hygienic place to stay, though the room is small and you shouldn’t expect much in the way of views or service. The washroom is especially tiny and has no shower. There’s a restaurant downstairs, but its menu is limited, and there aren’t many food stalls nearby. Summer Hill market, with a few shops and stalls, is a 20-minute walk away. On the plus side, Summer Hill Railway Station is 10 minutes on foot, and Shimla town is 4.5km away, or a 30 to 40-minute walk through lovely, dense vegetation.

The staff were wonderful and made the place feel like home. It’s in a beautiful location.

For this price, it’s hard to ask for more. The view is amazing, and the homestay and owner are both good.
