After a long journey, we arrived for our four-night stay and were told we couldn't check in unless we paid another ₹3,000. We'd already paid ₹9,000 in full through a major booking platform, but management denied the booking and wanted ₹12,000 total. They said prices differ across booking apps and told us, "This is a third-party app, and we can’t let you in with that app price." Customer care sided with the hotel and said the amount the hotel guy was asking for was the "actual price." This felt like a bait-and-switch, with a competitive online rate followed by more money demanded on arrival. It was unprofessional and unethical, and completely wrecked our travel plans. Save your money and book somewhere that honors confirmed reservations.

Breakfast was poor and not enough: just one prantha with curd, or a two-egg omelette with two pieces of bread. I was visiting Shimla in peak winter and there was no heater in the room. When I asked to rent one, they charged Rs. 300/- per day for a very basic, small heater, and told me not to use it at night.

The rooms smelled of cigarettes, and the people were worse. The man accepted my booking through agoda, then later asked for six times the price and behaved very badly. Please don't stay here. It doesn't seem genuine. Even after accepting a booking, they may cancel at the last minute if they get a walk-in booking.

The location is good and the price can be budget-friendly. I paid Rs.800 for my room through Agoda. Staff were good, too. The main drawback is the climb, around 30-40 steep stairs to reach the hotel.
