MAYFAIR Tea Resort

The design, decoration, and gardens at Mayfair tea resort are striking. Set in New Chumta tea estate near Sukna in Darjeeling district, it's a lovely, beautifully curated place with high-class hospitality. I can't think of anything negative to mention. It is costly, but worth returning to more than once.

We had a wonderful wedding celebration at Mayfair Siliguri. The rooms were comfortable, the food was great, and the staff were attentive and very helpful, taking care with the details so everything felt smooth and stress-free. The property is elegant, the venues spacious, and the whole place felt premium and well organized. Special thanks to Chef Sabyasachi and Manager Som for their great hospitality and management.

The restaurant can get stretched when large groups are there. I also hope the resort might rely less on marriage parties, since the crowds and ceremonies take away from the cosy feel. Though frankly, the management can't do much about that, and maybe we travellers have to reflect on it too. I loved the greenery, from the tea gardens and huge old trees around them to the effort to keep the resort itself green. The rooms are large and naturally lit, with wooden furniture. The food is good, and the whole experience felt perfect.

The food across all the wedding events was outstanding. Hundreds of guests made the same comment, and the restaurant staff and kitchen team really lifted the whole experience. Head Chef Sabyasaachi and his team deserve a special mention. As the groom, I can say hosting our wedding at Mayfair Siliguri was one of our best decisions. We had over 250 guests across multiple days, yet the team made the planning and execution feel effortless, handling each detail with care, precision, and warmth. Their coordination, responsiveness, hospitality, and willingness to help were exceptional. I especially want to thank Bijay, Monu, Laxminarayan, Sachin, Sagar, Som, Abdul, and Kalol for going above and beyond. Sunil Panda from the leadership team was also very supportive and helped things run smoothly behind the scenes. What stayed with me most was how everyone treated our wedding as if it were their own, even staff whose names I didn't manage to get. There were smiles, quick responses, a sense of ownership, and attention to detail everywhere. For a large wedding or event, Mayfair Siliguri brings together a beautiful property, excellent food, and a deeply committed team. I can't recommend it highly enough.
