Pioneer Hotel

I paid 27,750 in total, including food, after staying five days, and the bill was quite different from the rates quoted over email. They had quoted 2,000 for a single room and 2,400 for a double, but reception charged 2,200 for single occupancy and 2,600 for double. I had a very bad time dealing with that. The complimentary breakfast was poor and tasteless, the food charges were very high, and a water bottle cost 60 Rs. The rooms aren't good and the tariff hasn't been updated, so don't book here.

The in-house restaurant is a real plus, with excellent food, and the service is decent. The rooms are large and clean, though the building is dated and could use renovation. Pioneer Hotel is a good budget stay right in central Silvassa, handy for the bus stand. Good value for the location, as long as you aren't expecting luxury amenities.

We only tried the restaurant, not the hotel rooms. It's a family restaurant with a bar, serving veg and non-veg food. There are about 8-10 tables, with average seating for four at each. We tried the vegetarian menu and liked the taste, but service was really slow. Nobody came to take our order for around 5-10 minutes, even after we asked staff to send someone. The restaurant is in a good spot in the middle of the city. There's often a corporate crowd and people drinking. No music, so you can have a quiet conversation, and the ambience is average. Roadside parking is available, with a guard to guide you. There's a reception at the entrance where you can ask about rooms or the restaurant. I had a good experience overall, and I've heard the non-veg is good too. The service needs to improve.
