Castello's Coco Huts

Please don’t go there. We chose this place because the reviews were positive, but the reality was awful. The rooms are big, but the huts are full of holes. There were lizards and a rat in my room. Yes, a rat. It ran on my bed and over my body at night, ate my earplugs, and ran across my arm. Imagine waking at 3 am with a rat on you. I had a heart attack feeling. There was no AC or fridge, and it was so hot. There was only one fan, which wasn’t enough. The place was dirty and they didn’t clean. They just spread water on the washroom floor. I had to clean everything and the toilet myself. The floors were full of sand, and there were ants, lots of lizards, and a rat inside the room. There were even its eggs in the washroom. I couldn’t sleep in that room. On Friday night there was a DJ party with very loud music. The location is great, close to the sea and the restaurant.

Lovely staff, and a great beachside escape in South Goa. One of the best places to stay if you’re travelling solo. I’d 100% recommend it 🤙🏻

The owner and Cipriano were sweet and approachable. The room had AC, hot water showers, and clean bathrooms. Bring any toiletries you need. We were three people, and one blanket wasn’t enough. It’d help to have another blanket or bedsheet. A broom would also be useful so guests can sweep up the sand tracked in from the beach. Overall, it was a good experience. I’d highly recommend these affordable, budget-friendly family rooms near the beach.

The best part is how quiet the area is. You mostly hear the waves, and the beach and restaurants are very close. The room was simple rather than luxurious, but it had what I needed, including a big bed and no AC. For the price, it was well worth it. Costello was easygoing and gave me tips on things to see in Goa. He also let me extend my stay for a small extra charge.
