Cupid's Castle Resort

We booked for three days, but left on the second day and checked into a different hotel around the corner by the main road. The caretaker, who was the owner’s son, was hostile and arrogant. When I asked for a glass or water service in the room, he bluntly said they didn’t provide it and I could leave if I wanted. He acted as if giving us a room was a favour. They wanted cash, but I wouldn’t expect any service. The room smelled foul, and we only managed because we had air fresheners. The fan was tilted about 30 degrees and made noise, Wi-Fi kept dropping, and he wouldn’t give us the password. No window curtains, just curtain rods hooked out, and no TV. The room and bathroom were big, but the wardrobe had broken legs and shelves and was just taking up space. The bathroom curtain stank and dragged on the floor, gathering dirt. Power went out often, so bring a torch or candle, as they won’t provide one. There were no glasses, hot water, or blankets, just a slightly thick sheet. It rained at night and I worried the roof might leak, but thankfully no rain came in. I haven’t visited their branch at agoda beach, but the photos posted eight years ago of this hotel look ruined. Avoid this hotel if you want a pleasant stay or any hospitality.

There was no proper parking, and the staff were arrogant and unresponsive to requests. We chose this place thinking it would be budget-friendly, but the stench was unbearable and we couldn’t sleep. The room was extremely dirty and poorly maintained, with mosquitoes and lizards. The curtains, towels, sheets, sofa, and even the bed were dusty and smelled awful. The washroom was filthy too. Power cuts were frequent, and only two dim lights worked. The switchboard was broken, and the fan kept turning off randomly. There was no service staff available to fix it. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Everything else was good. The only issue during our visit was that hot water wasn’t available.

The meal took 45 minutes to arrive, and I expected something fresh after that wait. Instead, it was a complete disaster. The food was far from acceptable and the service was subpar. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience was so disappointing that I felt I had to. They don’t deserve even one star.
