Hotel Saaj by OYO Rooms

The man who showed us around was unfriendly. He said there was no backup power if the electricity went out, no TV, and no facilities. What else you need may depend on the client, but for me this was a definite no.

We paid Rs 3000/- for one day, but left without getting the money back and fortunately found another lodge that was really good. This place is near Madgaon station, and it was good when we stayed there 20 years ago. Now it's filthy, with dirty bathrooms and toilets, a leaking basin, cockroaches and other insects, and unwashed bedsheets. There's no room service, and apart from an arrogant manager there was no attendant. Don't waste your money. Better options are available in Gandhi market, near Victor hospital. We gave one star only because there was no zero rating option.

The staff are friendly and courteous, and the cleanliness is okay. It's easy to get around Margao town from here. The hotel is decent, though it could use renovation as it's getting old.

For what it costs, it's cheap and decent, but definitely not the best. The room was very small and poorly maintained. It's near the city centre and bus stand, and the 24 hour checkout setup is useful. Reception welcome and service were both average. The restaurant downstairs could communicate better.
