Mayfair Hideaway Spa Resort

We had a calm, refreshing stay at this riverside resort in south goa, near betul beach. The river view from the spacious, clean rooms was stunning and really relaxing. Food was delicious, with plenty of options, and the staff were polite and helpful. A lovely getaway for couples or families, highly recommended.

The riverside setting has a beautiful view, and the spa was relaxing. What made the stay pleasant was the staff, who were welcoming and cooperative. The manager even upgraded our room and helped arrange a scooty and taxi, which made everything easier. The breakfast choices are limited and could taste better. The pool needs more regular cleaning, and since the property is older, some renovation would improve the experience. It's a decent budget-friendly stay if you value friendly service and the surroundings, and don't mind sorting out food elsewhere.

We booked this resort through Agoda for December, then got a call from the property in November telling us to cancel. They gave several vague explanations, including that the resort was under maintenance and that management had changed. Looking at recent Google reviews afterward, it seems other travelers have had similar last-minute cancellations. It makes me suspect this could be a dishonest way to manipulate rates or increase profits. Agoda support didn't offer a clear solution or make any commitments. They said they had no direct contact with the property and left us to sort it out ourselves. The whole thing was frustrating and unprofessional, wasted our time, and put our holiday plans at risk. Strongly not recommended. Avoid booking here, and be cautious with online aggregators like Agoda or MMT unless you can check the property's reliability first.

Our family was left scrambling for somewhere else to stay after we arrived to check in and were told the resort was under maintenance. We'd booked through Make my trip in May, and by late afternoon we were still trying to find an alternative. With a lot of difficulty, we found a place at double the cost. MMT support was useless. They promised to reimburse the difference if we booked elsewhere, but neither MMT nor Fenicia took responsibility. I wish I could give zero stars.
