OYO 19393 Waters Edge

We really enjoyed our two-night stay. The hotel is newly opened, and we got a big, bright room overlooking the pool, with a great shower and a large, super-clean, comfortable bed. Service was great, and we felt very welcome. The garden is well maintained, too. The restaurant serves high-quality traditional Indian food. My vegetarian biriyani was amazing, full of fresh vegetables and spices. Be ready for spicy dishes. They also run dorms for backpackers next to the hotel at a very reasonable price, which makes for a great combination. It's away from the busy tourist crowds, so you can hear birds singing in the morning, but the beaches are still just a couple of minutes away by scooter. Reception can help arrange one.

The pyramid-shaped ceiling was lovely, and the room had a spacious balcony plus a smaller extra room with large sliding windows and a pool view, good for dining or relaxing. The bed was super comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious and clean. Staff were warm, welcoming, and helpful, and the location was peaceful, within walking distance of the main road. Getting around may be difficult, so bring your own transport or ask the property to arrange a taxi. There are no autos nearby. There's no general store in the area either, so come prepared. The nearest beach is about 4-5 km away, which shouldn't be a deal breaker.

The only thing I think needs improving is the pickup and drop service, since the hotel is quite far from the main stations. I stayed for four days and everything else was just right: clean rooms, good room service, humble staff, and delicious food. You must try Kareem's Chicken biryani. A nice place for anyone who likes peace and quiet. I can recommend it.

The location is a big plus: it's two minutes from Majorda Beach, with three other beaches on the same coast, and right next to the national highway. There's also a swimming pool. It's a splendid boutique villa hotel, well maintained and in a safe area, with a super-friendly host and manager, Nikhil. Highly recommended if you're after peace and quiet, away from overcrowded North Goa.
