Saturn Beach Cottage

The cottage was cleaned inside every third day, and the toilet was perfectly clean, with hot water available around the clock. The queen bed was my biggest surprise: huge and really comfortable, just right for a couple. Each evening before sunset, they lit a mosquito coil on the veranda, which lasted until about 10 PM. It was lovely to cool down in the quiet, listening to nature. When the sun got too hot, I could head back to the cottage by the river at the edge of the jungle and relax in the hammock or in bed. Agonda beach is only a one or two minute walk away, right in the village center, near the best restaurants and shops, as well as the taxi and riksha stand. The reception staff were there any time, day or night, if we needed water or something from the fridge. A litre of filtered water cost just 10 rupees.

It’s a brilliant quiet spot by the creek, great for relaxing by your cabin. There can be a few mosquitoes at night, so bring bug spray. The beach and restaurants are only a minute away. We first stayed here in January 2020 and ended up extending to ten nights because we loved Agonda’s chilled-out vibe. The owner’s an absolute gem and will do whatever he can to accommodate you, even filling your bottles with filtered water. A brilliant budget option.

The staff behaved well, and they’ll refill your water, suggest nearby places to explore, and arrange a rental vehicle. The price is reasonable, and the location is perfect for a peaceful stay near agonda beach. Just bear in mind that getting here can be quite expensive if you don’t have your own vehicle.

The manager was so kind that when we left the rain cover for our backpack in the hut, he brought it to our next stop in Palolem. We’d travelled around Goa for a few weeks, and this was the best and cheapest accommodation of the trip. The hut was quiet, clean, and right by a river, with beautiful Agonda beach just a few metres away. Staff were really friendly and could clean the room during our stay if we wanted, help arrange a taxi, or do laundry. The room and bathroom were very clean, the shower had hot water, and the Wi-Fi worked. There were lots of restaurants nearby, so it was good value all around. If we return to Agonda, we’ll stay here again. Highly recommended, and thank you!
