The Rainbows End

Utorda beach is a gem, and we wanted to stay nearby. Lovey mam was very cooperative and always tried to make us comfortable. One suggestion: don’t book online under any circumstances. Her direct price is much cheaper.

The location and ambience are good, but the upkeep and service were really poor. The pool was filthy, with dead butterflies, ants, flies, and spiders across the surface. In the room, the almirah was very dirty and there were mosquitoes, yet they didn’t provide an allout. The washroom was the worst part: the flush didn’t work properly, so we had to fill a bucket and flush by hand, and the hand shower and tap both ran together. The bathroom fixtures didn’t seem good quality. I booked for 2 days, 20th and 21st nov 2024, and found the stay pathetic. These are only the basic issues. Not recommended.

A month after I booked 3 rooms, I got a call on check-in day saying they weren’t available because of an online glitch. They put us in other rooms just behind the cottages we’d booked. Those rooms were big, but not as good as the cottages, and we found a small lizard and a small spider inside.

We only stayed for the last night of our trip around India, and ended up wishing we’d booked longer. The cabin was spotless and finished to a high standard, a fresh, relaxing place to land after a long journey. The pool area was very well kept too. Our host and her two year old son welcomed us warmly. She arranged a friendly, cheap, and reliable taxi driver to take us to the airport. There’s a beautiful beach and fantastic restaurants within a 10 minute walk. Great value, highly recommend!
