Hotel Snowland Srinagar

Breakfast was the main letdown. I expected more variety and better flavor, especially from a place with Snowland’s reputation. The rest of our stay at Hotel Snowland, Srinagar, was comfortable. Our room was spacious, clean, and centrally heated, and the staff were polite, with good room service. One issue: the mesh on the windows let cold air reach the extra bed by the window, so it got chilly.

We stayed for three nights in mid April 25. The rooms had modern amenities, and there was a wide choice of food at both breakfast and dinner. Dal Lake is about a 10-minute walk away, which is fine if you’re comfortable walking. Everything else was great, but we noticed some guests checking in later in the afternoon and evening got welcome drinks, while we didn’t when we arrived in the afternoon.

The location is very good, and the service was good apart from Mr. Adil at reception, who was rude. We were stuck at the property during heavy snowfall and asked for a checkout 30 minutes late. He said the property was sold out until February 1st, but I believe that was a lie, since you could book 20 rooms instantly. If you might need even a few extra minutes at checkout, this hotel may not suit you. During snow, I’d look at other options, where you might get a little sympathy if you’re stuck. I stayed three days.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday here, and the staff were so helpful and caring, always happy to accommodate our requests. Ashiq, Rafiq, Shahid, Dawood and Rashid were especially friendly. From the front desk to the dining team, the service was the best we’ve had. What an amazing hotel.
