The houseboat itself was decent, though my stay at Houseboat Pari Mahal was just average overall. Mr. Muzzafar, though, made it much more pleasant. He was humble and kind, and kept making sure guests were comfortable with his warm, attentive hospitality.
Leaving with fresh memories and no regrets. We had no bad experience with these lovely Kashmiri people, and they feel like family to me now. Yasin bhai was so good with everything and gave me the best experience. Zafar bhai was really nice and cute too, with lots of good advice. I can’t describe what the experience with both of them was like. Guys, do visit him in Srinagar for a great experience.
The owner was helpful and took care of every detail. We had a great time, with fantastic local food and plenty of Kashmiri tea. It was quiet, relaxing, calm, and felt very safe.
We arrived at parimahal at night, and the view outside was fabulous. Inside, it felt like heaven. The helper, or keeper, was amazing, with a lovely nature and manner, and the service was excellent too. The experience was memorable. You should try staying on a houseboat at least once.
The staff were helpful, but the room was average and the bathroom tiny. There was no health faucet, and the flush worked just once. After that, it was bucket service with a vengeance. Breakfast was nothing to speak of, just 2 toast and 1 omelette, and the tea was average. I’d avoid it if possible. If you can’t find any other accommodation in Srinagar, negotiate hard for better service.
