OYO Flagship 047 Railway Station Surat

Getting to the railway station and bus depot is easy, and the market is within reach, which made the location handy for work travel. The rooms were good quality, and staff and service were good too. I liked the food I ordered from the restaurant in the building. The lift needs better maintenance.

The staff were good, and the location near Surat Railway station and the wholesale clothes market is useful. It's a budget hotel, but the rooms are just okay. Food quality was low, and the food area and rooms smelled. Cleaning was average, and the towels were very old. The owners need to take care of some basic amenities.

The staff were helpful and the place was really clean, so I'd pick this hotel again for future trips to Surat. It's on the main road, within walking distance of the railway station, and works well for either business or a family trip. The food was awesome too.

At check-in the reception and room staff were pleasantly courteous. I had only just arrived, so I couldn't comment on the stay yet, but the lift was still out of order weeks after another reviewer had mentioned it. I also felt a bit cheated by the online travel aggregator: it showed one price before booking and a different one at checkout. That's not the hotel's fault. At least a complimentary breakfast would have helped make up for the broken lift. Edited 10/03/2019: Then I found there was no running hot water. A room boy brought a bucket of hot water, and staff told me the hot water system hadn't worked for a long time. Breakfast was a meagre plate of greasy poha and pale-looking parathas, which I didn't eat. The staff were pleasant, though. In reply to the owner's cut-and-paste response: please read what the customer actually says and respond to it, instead of offering platitudes.
