Hotel Tawang Holiday

The best part of our stay was Tashu’s care. She welcomed us like family, shared stories about local traditions, and offered tips for visiting Tawang Monastery and nearby places. Her warmth turned the trip into something we’ll remember fondly. The meals were full of Monpa flavors, made with fresh home-grown ingredients. We had thukpa, handmade momos, butter tea by the fire, and vegetables picked from the garden. It felt like comfort food served with real pride. The homestay itself was quiet and cozy, with wooden rooms, soft lighting, and a fireplace against the high-altitude cold. Outside were views of snow-capped peaks and green valleys. We woke to mist moving over the ridges and monastery bells in the distance. A lovely place for a restful Tawang getaway.

The market area location made it easy to get around, and Rinchen and the team made Tawang Holiday feel like a second home during our three nights. They arranged warm home-cooked meals and a bonfire, and helped us find a good cab and pilot for the Bumla Pass visit. I’d definitely recommend staying here. Kudos to Rinchen and team.

A quick call to the owner made everything easier. We stayed five days, and the clean, well-kept rooms were warm enough for Tawang’s cold weather. I spent three nights at this lovely hotel and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Tawang. It’s near the main market and old Tawang market, with the main Tawang market within walking distance. The room was comfortable, with a pleasant feel, a geyser, and all the amenities, at a reasonable rate. The food was very good, room service was good, and the owner was caring and helpful.
