The Hosteller Rishikesh, Upper Tapovan

The food was exceptionally tasty, and the catering team were professional, polite, and attentive. My one concern was the reception, where the communication felt a little impolite at times. A warmer welcome at the front desk would have made a good stay even better.

Ranadeb Ghosh was approachable and supportive throughout my five nights at The Hosteller in Rishikesh, and kept things running smoothly. The staff were friendly too, and talking with them made the place feel like a small community rather than just somewhere to sleep. The property was tidy and well cared for, from the rooms to the shared areas, with a calm feel that made it comfortable from the first day. I left with five days of good, clean memories. It was one of my nicest hostel stays, and I’d recommend it if you want a comfortable, well-managed place in Rishikesh.

The terrace cafe's live music was amazing, and the cafe food and staff were spot on. Housekeeping was excellent, and the property is really well maintained. Ranadeb Ghosh ji, the property manager, was especially kind and supportive. He was incredibly customer-friendly and made our stay and travel worthwhile. I’d recommend this place for a few days or a longer stay.

The property itself was decent, but the service and staff attitude were unacceptable for what we paid. I was charged extra for advertised facilities, yet the shower and Jacuzzi did not work. We complained more than once and were told repairs were coming, but nothing improved during our four-day stay. We also lost a helmet in the parking area. Staff apologized but said they were not responsible for anything lost there. When I asked them to check CCTV, they sent us to the police station instead of trying to help. They could at least have looked at the footage. The scooty vendor connected with the property was extremely rude too. When we returned the scooty, he ignored us as if we were asking him for a refund. If something goes wrong or you lose belongings, don't expect management to support you.
