The Kanatal Arbour

The independent huts are great for privacy, and the place is well maintained and decently run. It’s in a good location in kanatal and works well for families. If you’re on a budget, give it a try.

The restaurant food was awesome, and the staff were caring, warm, compassionate, hardworking, and very prompt. I stayed with my family for two days and enjoyed the serene hillside setting and mountain views. Getting there may be a little challenging because of the steep slope, though the property is only metre from the main road. The room was okay, but there are very strict rules about using facilities, including the kettle and water, and about ordering from outside. There are several fine boards. Amenities are limited too, with hot water available only for limited hours and electricity coming from a generator. I’d avoid this place in the rainy season.

We were a group of six families and stayed for three nights, from 15th Aug to 17th Aug. The location is peaceful and the view is beautiful. Himanshu and Ashish responded promptly and tried to make us comfortable with what they could control. The cook was really good, flexible with our requests, and everyone liked his food. The rooms, though, were in pathetic condition. Some toilets had flushes that didn’t work, water came through the roof, and there was a damp smell. The linens weren’t clean, and pillows that had originally been white had turned black. They said the central thermal system provided hot water from 7 to 10 AM and 4 to 6 PM, but we only got it from 7 to 10, and then only for the first hour. They never turned it on during 4 to 6 PM. There was no room service. After two days we had to ask for our towel to be changed, and no cleaning was done until the third day, when we asked.

The mountain views from the spacious, cozy room were breathtaking, and the service was exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was met with genuine warmth. Staff took care of every request quickly and with a smile. I also enjoyed exploring the nearby trails and relaxing on the balcony. The food had a delicious mix of local and international dishes, with something for every palate. Every moment at Kanatal Arbour Hotel felt like a dream. I can’t wait to return to this peaceful, beautiful place.
