The Orchid Rishivan Rishikesh

That quiet white-sand stretch of the Ganga across the road was a real highlight. It felt very different from the river at the ghats, and there was hardly anyone there. The grounds are green and peaceful, with plenty of parking, and our clean, well-kept room looked out toward the mountains. The resort is about 20 km beyond Rishikesh, around 38 km from Devprayag Sangam, and roughly a 1-1.5 hour drive from the famous Jhulas of Rishikesh. The entrance and exit are manageable for experienced manual or automatic drivers, and they can arrange an in-house driver if needed. We came with our 11-month-old, and they were very accommodating with both our food needs and the baby's. Thanks to Amit, Yogesh, Sarita, the rest of the restaurant staff whose names I didn't catch, and the cooks for the delicious meals. Mahesh, the property manager, was quick to respond to requests and helped us look around and find nearby tourist places. Everyone, from reception to the security guards, was warm and welcoming. A couple of small things could be improved: there were 3-4 houseflies in the restaurant, and on busy holiday or weekend evenings, a cultural program would be nice.

The rooms are spread out, so the new property feels spacious, and ours was roomy, clean, and had a mesmerising view. It was a very comfortable stay, and everything looks well maintained at the moment. Everyone working there was polite and helpful. The front desk team, especially Mr. Shobit, were lovely, as was the E- vehicle driver.

The hotel itself was beautiful, with lovely views and clean, comfortable rooms. Our stay was great apart from the food, and the front office manager gave us a warm welcome. Amit, Ankit, Yogesh, Sarita, and Videsh from the F&B team were courteous, and Pandey Ji helped us get around the hotel with impressive driving. The first day's food was good, but it was very disappointing after that. It seemed stale, and when the hotel was full, service fell apart. Our 2-year-old daughter got food poisoning and had to be taken to the hospital. Food safety and quality are serious concerns and shouldn't be compromised. The hotel needs to improve this if it wants to keep its reputation. I could have taken this further and asked for a full refund. Instead, I'm leaving a strong warning: please fix the food quality so someone else doesn't have to go through the same thing.

Pradeep Kukreti and his team made us feel welcome from the start. They were attentive, polite, and caring, and everything ran smoothly. The meals were fresh, tasty, and well prepared, with each one feeling comforting and thoughtfully put together. Orchid Rishiven is in a peaceful, lovely setting, just right for a relaxing break. We'd love to come back.
