Hotel Vihangs Inn

We weren't told the terms and conditions when booking, and then an unexpected Rs.12k charge came up. We had explained to Mr. Bharat that only the 22 invited participants would have Hi-tea, and we understand how the serving could have caused confusion. We made sure the other 16 people didn't get it. Even so, Mr. Bharat Patil spoke harshly to my colleague, which wasn't necessary, and the undisclosed terms would have stopped us booking in the first place. We've held similar events in banquet halls around Thane for 5 years and haven't had hospitality like this. Mr. Bharat, identified as a manager, was aggressive toward my team, and his words to my female colleague were inappropriate. The incident reflected badly on the staff and management.

The bathroom was neat, with soap, shampoo, and toiletries, and the restaurant served good food in huge portions. The hotel is right on the main road, though construction currently means you have to join the service road elsewhere. Inside, the lobby feels cramped and the lifts are tiny. The room looks okay at first, but there’s no central AC, so it takes ages to cool in this weather; there’s a fan as well. The windows have gaps, letting in mosquitoes, road noise, and hot air when the AC is off. The sheets itch badly, and either those or the mosquitoes cause rashes and itching that make sleep difficult. Events in the banquet hall directly below can be loud enough for the bass to shake the room, and guests aren't told in advance. Light sleepers can be disturbed. Checkout is 10am, and after booking you may find yourself paying extra for two hours if you missed the fine print, unlike the 12-2pm checkout/in at most hotels. It’s expensive for a 3 star hotel given the rooms and amenities, around 7k plus 2k for another 2-3 hours. Three stars for a 3 star place. They could improve a lot.

For the same money, Vihang is clean, with large rooms, great staff, and really quick service. I was at the nearby Ibis before, and found it claustrophobic, with awful food and service.

Mr.Bharat Patil, the manager, didn't explain the terms and conditions before booking. He speaks to people very harshly, especially women, and doesn't seem to know how to talk to them.
