OYO 19640 Hotel Ks

A good spot for small parties and family functions.

Review from 21-09-2020. Zero rating. K S Palace is opposite Bharam Sarovar, near Arjuna Chowk in Kurukshetra. It has a lawn with a wide front gate and a ground floor hall for indoor parties or functions. The venue can host gatherings of about 100-150 people. The rooms are on the first or second floor, and come in three price options: Rs. 800, 100, and 1400. An extra bed costs up to Rs. 250. Rooms are average in size, with AC, an attached washroom, a geyser, and a western toilet. The sheets were stained. When I asked for a fresh one, the replacement was stained too. There was a TV and AC, but no AC remote, and the AC itself was very poor quality. The fans seemed new, yet even at speed 5 they ran as slowly as speed 1. There was just one power socket for charging, and the drain pipes were blocked. Only one cook was available, serving food until 7 pm. The menu showed many dishes, but they only offered daal, roti, and curd for Rs. 100. I didn't order because the price seemed high for such a small portion, so I can't speak to the taste. They took full payment at check-in, with checkout at 11 am, but refused to give an invoice, saying the rates had been negotiated. They had no digital payment option and wanted cash only. I also saw them refuse bookings already made through OYO, MakemyTrip, and other services. Local people also seemed to have a poor opinion of the staff and owner. I'd choose a nearby Dharamshala over booking a room at K S Palace.

The parking is excellent, with the property opposite barhmsarovar on a road as wide as a six lane road, so parking isn't an issue. For events, there's a garden for around 100 people, a fan cooled hall with a stage for 100, and a fully AC hall for 50-60. It works well for weddings and other functions, and is also an OYO hotel. Some room ACs work well and others don't. The beds are good quality, spring type, and rooms have AC and TV service.

The owner doesn't know how to speak to people, and the prices are very high. You might book a room online at a low price, then be charged more when you arrive. I had a terrible experience and would tell people to spend their money elsewhere.
