Seeing elephants and other animals at the property, and hearing a lion's roar from about 100 meters away, made this feel like nature at its purest. We stayed in both the tree house and the cottages. From the tree house we had an incredible view over the forest canopy, while the cottages were cozy and comfortable among lush greenery. At Jungle Retreat, Wayanad, the staff made us feel at home and took care of what we needed. Thank you to Vinod bhai, Mannu bhai, and Vishnu for going above and beyond and bringing such warmth to the stay. It's an experience I'll cherish. Great for anyone who enjoys adventure, peace, and nature, and I'd recommend it to families, couples, and solo travellers.

We only wish we'd had more time here, and we'll be back. Every meal was a fresh, delicious homemade feast. The staff were kind, helpful, and knew the place well. They wanted us to have a magical visit, and sharing their love for it made the experience special. From our treehouse we could watch birds, mammals, and all sorts of wildlife in the beautiful jungle. A truly amazing place for so many reasons.

The bush breakfast was a highlight. We ate while watching deer and a Malabar giant squirrel moving around nearby. Meals at lunch and dinner were delicious, with plenty of variety. Vishnu, our guide and caretaker, was great and very knowledgeable, and the whole team was good. Staying in the tree house feels surreal in the morning, surrounded by jungle, and eerie at night in a fun way. It's a different kind of wildlife experience from a safari or a resort in a National Park, and it makes you feel much closer to the forest. The resort lodging seems a bit more protected. Bird watchers should see the tree house. I did have two concerns. Walking to the tree houses didn't feel safe because there wasn't proper protective equipment, even though the guide is good. Also, the price is very high for the value. Still, I'm not sure where else you can watch wild elephants all day.

The jungle views were amazing, and we were lucky to see elephants, lots of deer, and even a tiger on our jungle walk. The staff were super friendly and the food was great. We had a really good time, though the prices felt a bit high.

I planned one night here and ended up staying two. If you're into nature and wildlife, pack a day bag and come. My tree house looked over the waterholes, and I was very happy with what it offered. The cabin was immaculate and the bed was amazing. Early on day two, I saw the notorious zero tail elephant from my balcony. No big cats showed up, though I heard the tiger roar both nights. The setting deep in the forest is unbelievable, and the property is extremely well maintained. Vinod, the Ops manager, welcomed me like a friend, and we soon became friends. Vishnu, the naturist at the tree house, is the most passionate wildlife enthusiast I've met. He's a great person to learn from on nature walks. Take the morning forest walk with him. He's brave, protective, and incredibly knowledgeable. The caretakers were great too, especially Rahul, who walked up and down the hills to make sure I had food and what I needed each day. Staying in a tree house takes a certain level of fitness, plus real enthusiasm and courage for the jungle sounds at night. It's an incredible adventure. I'll be back soon, and encourage anyone reading to pack up and go. Six out of five stars!
