Hotel Blue Castle

We were traveling as a family and I was a little nervous about staying in the city, but we felt at ease as soon as we arrived. Everyone we met, from the Front Desk and Housekeeping to the Restaurant team, was humble and greeted us with a real smile. We spent three nights at the Blue Castle Hotel, and the care from the staff made it feel like a home away from home. Thanks to management for keeping the service standards high, and to Goibibo for making the booking easy. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for comfort and care in Thiruvananthapuram.

The Kerala food was a real highlight, especially the nethrapazham bajji, which was my favourite. We found the hotel restaurant reasonably priced for lunch and dinner, and the tea and coffee from the stall just outside were surprisingly good too. The restaurant's indoor fish pond gave it a lovely, unusual feel, though it could get a bit stuffy. I also found the Western appetisers at this hotel, as at many Indian hotels, less tasty than I expected, but the local dishes more than made up for that. We spent almost two weeks travelling around Kerala and Tamil Nadu, and this was one of just two hotels that really stood out, along with Woodnote Hotel. The rooms were spacious and well equipped. The phone had quick-dial buttons for different hotel departments, which was handy. At first the bathroom's transparent glass felt awkward from the room, but the blinds provided privacy. It was a very pleasant stay.

We had a great experience with the team and will definitely come back. The restaurant staff were respectful, friendly, and supportive, especially Sajith, Ram, Godson, Bethelda, Athul, Athira and Krishna. Mr. Stan Jacob, the main manager, was cheerful and cooperative, and listened to our suggestions. Restaurant manager Mr. Kumar Sujata was helpful and friendly too. At the front office, Megha & Anakha were especially kind.

The breakfast had a great range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices, and food prices were reasonable. Staff were consistently polite, professional, and helpful. The rooms are modern and well cared for, and the hotel sits away from the busy city while still being conveniently located in Trivandrum. For an affordable price, this is a top-notch 4-star option. Service was outstanding and I really enjoyed my stay.
