The room was decent and the stay was fine, though the TV didn’t work. What caused a lot of drama was getting a bill with a seal, which the hotel staff couldn’t provide. I also called reception several times and got no answer. When I asked in person why they weren’t picking up, one of the guys told me, “Our job is not only to attend your call.”
The location is good, about a 200-meter walk from Central Railway station, but the stay was completely unsatisfactory and fell short of basic hospitality. The lodge looked at least twenty years old, with little proper repair or maintenance. The room was dark, small, poorly ventilated, and had no view from the windows, which made me uncomfortable and uneasy. The AC was ineffective, while the ceiling fan was extremely noisy and had no regulator cap. The bathroom was clean but very old and poorly maintained. Dust on the curtains suggested housekeeping had been neglected, and no services of any kind were provided.
The location is the one good thing here, right by the railway station, market, and padmanabha swami temple. The receptionist was pretty good too, but the room boy didn’t seem suited to the job. Our water only arrived after we asked, and even then it was after a night. The room was just okay, and the bathroom pipes were damaged and smelled bad.
The room was dirty, and the TV that was listed during booking didn’t even have basic Hindi channels. They charged us an unreasonable amount for water, but the bottles weren’t sealed. My mother has asthma and asked for hot bathing water, but they had none. Instead of helping, the staff brushed her off and said we were asking too much. The receptionist was especially terrible, and the staff were rude to my parents for no reason. This was one of our worst hotel stays. The facilities and service were very poor, and I wouldn’t recommend it.
We ended up wandering around to find another room after a frustrating start to our night. Three of us had booked through Agoda for the night of 18 March 2026 and got there at 1 a.m. The door was partly closed, and the staff member was asleep at reception. We called to ask about our booking, but he ignored us and kept sleeping. I suspect he may have been drunk, though I can’t be sure. After a tiring journey, this was extremely frustrating, especially since the hotel says it offers 24-hour service. The staff should attend to guests at any hour.
