AM Hotel Kollection: Manasa Inn, Tirupati

I stayed in the family suite at the end of January and had a horrible experience. The photos on the site were completely different from what we found. The beds were in bad condition, and the toilets were poorly maintained and slippery. The washbasin area was so bad that we didn’t feel like washing our faces there. It wasn’t worth the money, and I don’t recommend it.

Overall, it was good, and the bathroom accessories were branded, though they didn’t look that good, possibly because of the hard water. The main problem was the washbasin outlet: water drained extremely slowly and kept getting stuck. Someone responsible needs to inspect it properly, as it seemed to lack supervision. The rooms and service were excellent.

The staff were supportive and the service was very good. Breakfast was also very good, though the spread could be larger, so consider including it when you book. The location is a bit far out, but autos make it easy to get to the temples. The single king-bed rooms face an open shaft, so there’s no view. Given the location, the price felt high. My ratings: rooms 3.5, service 4.5, location 3.5.

The extra bed was comfortable, and the rooms themselves were good, but the bathroom was only okay for the price. Parking was inconvenient enough that we left the car on the street beside the hotel on the second day. At breakfast, there wasn’t even water ready; we had to ask each time and were given paper cups. The portions also didn’t seem enough for the number of guests, especially since breakfast was included in the room rate. There’s no room intercom either, so every request meant calling an office mobile number, which was sometimes busy. The keycard had to be reactivated whenever we stepped out. Staff said it was a Wi-Fi keycard that deactivated when Wi-Fi was active on a phone, though my phone was using mobile data. After darshan, waiting outside our room at 11 at night while tired was frustrating. We paid 6600 for two nights, and it didn’t feel worth it. We could get a better room in town for that price.
